Museum of Rural English Life
Designed and built by Christoph Studio, this solid oak table was commissioned by the Museum of Rural Life (MERL) in Reading, UK as part of their newly renovated space.
Made from local oak sourced within a 15-mile radius, the timber is quarter-sawn to reveal the medullary rays that are characteristic of oak.
The table includes two ‘woven’ power-access panels. A design detail that adds texture and invites passing visitors to stop and engage with the piece.
A curved, laminated stretcher brings both structure and a gentle sculptural quality, joined into triangular rails.
